Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9200 Bissonnet

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 9200 Bissonnet about 11 p.m. on Tuesday (October 7).  

The victim, Maria Soto-Garcia, 61, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers G. Sullivan and C. Liu reported:  

Witnesses at the Williamstown Apartment complex at the above address reported hearing gunshots in the parking lot.  HPD patrol officers responded to the scene and found Ms. Soto-Garcia had suffered a gunshot wound and was deceased.  

It is believed Soto-Garcia was an innocent bystander, struck by the gunfire.
